The 'City Girls' Story:
Another work celebrating the beaky birds of the Inlet.
If you've ever looked up from your busy day, you may have seen Shaz and Shan, little shags perched high above the road and the traffic at the sea's edge.
This work is deliberately simple. At face value, it's two cute shore birds set against an azure blue sky. But I want people to look closer, think about where they are set, what they're perched on, and what's in the distance.
This is one of many of my works set around the humble inlet. I adore painting the shore birds, capturing the essence of an ordinary day on the Inlet, with the wildlife, the tides and the light all working in harmony as it does in nature.
I want people to look twice, enjoy the beauty, and respect the fragility of our beautiful coastal habitats.
Framing Tips:
This print fits an off-the-shelf picture frame with an A4 sized mat board opening (i.e. the hole!). Remember to use a frame with a mat border, so the print doesn't touch the glass. Once framed, it will be quite a bit bigger than A4 because of the border and the frame itself. Or invest in professional framed for full fabulousness!
