It's impossible not to fall in love with Queenstown and the incredible Remarkables.
The Remarkables is the perfect scene for one of my textured, landscapes. The mountain range big and beautiful and commanding, so that's the mood I was after with this painting.
It didn't need any people or animals to give it any more personality, but it felt it did need to give you something to ponder, amid all that grandeur. Why are those rocks tumbling down the hill? Is the geology really so 'rock solid'?
Details: Oil on canvas. Framed in a beautifully hand made NZ timber frame, stained natural. Dimensions: 1010mm wide x 730 mm tall.
