A drive or ride through the Mackenzie Basin affects you. It just does.
The vast nothingness of the place makes you feel as if you're in a different world. The gorgeous aqua blues of lake Tekapo and Lake Pukaki are perfectly and simply set against the glowing summer ochre foothills, and the cool mountains behind. Delicious complimentary colors!
For this work, I wanted to capture the mood of the Mackenzie Country colors, the simplicity of the landscape, and the feeling of just wanting to hang there for a bit.
