Story:
The gorgeous and gangly spoonbill. They're technically not a New Zealand native bird, but arrived here in the 1800s. Their numbers have gone from just a few plucky birds to a number of decent sized colonies around New Zealand. They seem to thrive here, and people love them. I paint spoonbills more than any other bird!
