Five Favourite Wading Birds on solid timber blocks.

This series is semi-abstract, but the birds real and recognisable. I made the birds slightly transparent, almost ghost-like, so the chunky textured background and the finely detailed bird would complement each other.
Each piece is bespoke, a different size, with the pied stilts being quite wide:
Spoonbill 1: 83mm w x 420mm tall
White Heron: 83mm w x 460mm tall
Spoonbill 2: 93mm w x 390mm tall
Little Shag: 93mm w x 415mm tall
Pied Stilt: 130mm w x 420mm tall
All my materials have been selected, sized, prepared and finished by hand, making a bespoke, hand-made work of art, completely from scratch.
