INSPIRATION
This work is one of three works inspired by what I experiences riding the 300km Alps-2-Ocean cycle trail in three days.
The Twizel canals were man-made in the 1970s as part of the Government's "Think Big" infrastructure program. These canals have provided a sustainable, renewable power supply ever since, as well as an abundant supply of New Zealand King Salmon for both recreational and commercial fishers.
I was struck by the confluence of a series of orderly straight lines heading to a vanishing point in the distance. Set above this sense of order and direction, was a cacophony of cloud cover. The straight lines were heading to the place where the chaos of cloud was coming from!
It reminded me a bit of life and how order and chaos work in harmony.
