The oystercatcher takes a nap, resting on one leg. Apparently shore birds do that to reduce the surface area exposed to the cold.


This work was inspired by the oystercatchers on the rocks. The tide gently washes over and around the rocks and the birds rest conveniently just out of harm's way (traffic, dogs, walkers, kids).

Size: 720mm wide x 520mm stretched over a hand made NZ timber frame.
