This work was inspired by Nelson's Waimea Estuary, from Saxton Stream. I wanted the sunlight hitting the grasses to create vivid, warm colors. This contrasts with the coolness of the water, and the blues coming from the reflected sky.


There are variably oystercatchers there most days, so it was only fitting they be included.
