INSPIRATION
This work is one of 4 in a series inspired by a trip over the incredibly steep hill at Akaroa to the Heads of the beautiful Akaroa Harbour.
The place is secluded, wild and beautiful, and the birdlife is abundant. The character in the foreground is a black shag (cormorant), often seen just by themselves, or with a mate (but sometimes with the extended family!). I put her in by herself to complete the story of wild, peaceful seclusion.
