Lake Pukaki, Mt Cook - New Zealand's tallest and most famous mountain. 2025
This work was inspired by a South Island roadie ('vannie'. I've done many, but this time stopped for an overnighter at Lake Pukaki, looking straight down the lake to Mount Cook in the middle of winter.
I added a gentle pair of local Paradise Ducks, going about their day. To me, the Paradise Duck symbolises togetherness and partnership. You always see them as a pair. Their gorgeous warm colors contrast nicely with the winter tones.
