Royal Spoonbill.
Original painting on oil, painted with a knife for high texture, quite a sculptural effect.
My all time favourite bird - the gorgeous and leggy spoonbill is super clever and also very shy.
These small works are fabulous in a small space, either by themselves or as a set of two or three. Perfect for a tall skinny wall, or the awkward space between windows.
Framing - this frame is as much an original work of art as the painting itself. It has been hand made from scratch, from heirloom heart Rimu (a New Zealand hard wood), by my husband Reid.
All my materials have been selected, sized, prepared and finished by hand, making a bespoke hand-made work of art, completely from scratch.
