Abel Tasman National Park is a wilderness reserve in the north of the South Island. It has a famous Great Walk along the coast, and is an utterly gorgeous (and protected) corner of the South Island.
The area is home to an amazing array of marine mammal, fish, and sea birds.
As a Nelson-based artist, it was only a matter of time before one of trips into the Abel Tasman ended up inside a frame!
The characters are all locals - cheeky fur seals have a play, and a 'wisened' black-backed gull watching on.
