Story:
Celebrating the humble Estuary, the painting looks over the Waimea Estuary back towards the hills of Nelson, from Best Island.
Best Island is one of the islands surrounding the slightly more famous Rabbit Island (Motuara). I biked there, and was so taken with the reflections in the silky water, it went straight on my "must paint" list.
My estuary paintings are not complete without a few of the local characters, in this case a spoonbill, and a couple of spoonbill buddies in the distance.
