This print has been varnished with 'Glamour 2', a professional canvas coating formulated to protect, preserve and enhance fine art printing. The coating will increase resistance to fading and help protect the image from moisture and abrasion.
STORY
I adore painting shore birds, capturing the essence of an ordinary day on the Inlet, with the wildlife, the tides and the light all working in harmony as it does in nature.
This series was 'conceived' around Christmas time as many of the shore bird chicks started to appear around the inlet/s. Their mums are just as proud and protective as we are!, so I wanted the mums to feature just as prominently as the chick.
The chicks start off as a tawny ball of fluffy cuteness, and as they mature they take on their distinctive features and colors. This wee cutie looking over at mum is a teenager - a mini me, if you will :)
