"Ngakuta Morning" - Ngakuta Bay, Marlborough Sounds, New Zealand
This work was inspired by the morning light across Ngakuta Bay in the Marlborough Sounds, and a cheeky black backed gull hanging around the wharf.
When I visit the Sounds, it's usually with a bike, and this work was 'hatched' during a ride from Momorangi Bay through to Picton on the Link Pathway.
It is quite textured, and exaggerates the shapes of the Marlborough Sounds landscape, the thick native bush in the area, and the gorgeous morning light across the water.
