"Run of the Beach" (B) - Pied Oystercatcher at Rabbit Island Beach.


This painting celebrates the simple daily life of shore birds ... the oystercatchers have the beach to themselves, and just go about their day. This scene does play out in the winter months, but unfortunately in the summer the birds are a little more wary, sharing the beach with humans and dogs.


Two paintings were made to work individually, or even more fabulously as a pair (see pic).
